Information about Ivory Hill Wood
Open to the public there are two public footpaths on site one running in a South West to North East direction between Huckford Lane and Park Lane, and the other running East from Park Lane to join this path. There are several permissive footpaths running through the site.
The site consists largely of woodland with a small area of scrub in the North Eastern part of the site. The woodlands over much of the site have semi mature and mature trees of Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur), Sessile Oak (Quercus petraea) and Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) and rather more frequent immature trees of Pendunculate Oak and Sycamore.
Signs of badger activity has been found in the wood along with footprints of roe deer. Its home to many species of birds including bullfinch, chaffinch, jay, and song thrush.
