Overnight closure of Westerleigh Rd/ Shire Way Yate – 21 – 25 October 2026
Message from South Gloucestershire Council: From 21 to 25 October, a section of Westerleigh Road and Shire Way will be closed overnight (8pm to 6am) for works connected with the Yate Spur active travel project.

Yate Spur project update
From 21 to 25 October, a section of Westerleigh Road and Shire Way will be closed in both directions overnight (8pm to 6am) between the Rodford Way/Road to Nowhere roundabout and the mini-roundabout near the viaduct.
From 21 October, temporary traffic management will also change on this section of road. Southbound traffic will remain open using the opposite carriageway, while northbound traffic will continue to follow the existing diversion via Shire Way and Brockworth.
Thank you for your patience while we improve walking, wheeling and cycling links between Yate, Westerleigh and surrounding communities.
