Mon 27 July 2026: Construction of next phase of the Yate Spur Active Travel Scheme starts
Message from South Gloucestershire Council: Construction of the next phase of the Yate Spur Active Travel Scheme starts on Mon 27 July 2026.
Published: 15 July 2026
The Yate Spur scheme will make it safer and easier to walk, cycle or wheel between Yate, Westerleigh and surrounding areas with the installation of wider pavements, new pedestrian crossings and better links for active travel.
Phase 1 of the construction:
- From Monday 27 July – Sunday 20 December 2026
- From the roundabout at the Rodford Way/Road to Nowhere roundabout along Westerleigh Road and a section of Shire Way as far as Brockworth.
- To carry out the work safely, there will be a full 24-hour closure of the northbound carriageway until 20 December.
- Overnight full closures of the northbound and southbound carriageway of this section are required from 27 July to 3 August (8pm to 6am) to install the traffic management measures, access only.
