Committee meeting for P25/02534/O: 450 homes on land east of Roundways, Thurs 17th September@ 2pm

Bloor Homes has applied to build 450 homes on Green Belt land east of Roundways Coalpit Heath and have put in an appeal to the Government. Now the decision will  be made by the Government at a public planning appeal scheduled for November 2026, not by South Gloucestershire Council.

To help the planning inspectors arrive at a decision, they need to know what South Gloucestershire Council’s decision would have been. The Strategic Sites Delivery Committee will make a decision at a meeting this Thursday at the Kingswood Civic Centre, starting at 2pm.

South Gloucestershire Council Planning Officers have recommended approval, in line with the latest guidance on the Grey Belt contained in the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework). However, it is the Committee that makes the decision.

South Gloucestershire Ward Councillor Jon Lean, members of the public and a representative from this Parish Council, will be attending the meeting to make the case for why the application should be refused.

The meeting is held in public, and members of the public are able to speak and address the committee for 5 minutes in total, although some residents have registered to speak already. Members of the public may also  attend in person, or view the meeting online, to observe and show support.
